Rebel with a Cause: Leighana Lynn
this week we talked with one of our own, Leighana Lynn. Leighana is the digital marketing director and editor-in-chief for ladies of paradise. Having managed a dispensary for three years prior to LoP we were excited to bring her knowledge about the plant and Oregon's cannabis law to the team.
Leighana has coordinated and planned all of ladies of paradise events and has taken that passion to help other teams like On the Revel with their Revel 2020 event happening later this year. her true passion though is writing, she is curates the blog for both ladies of paradise and lady jays, but is also launching a new blog, high vibe curator to talk about all things spirituality and travel.
So let's dive in and learn what makes Leighana divinely her!
What makes you feel the most authentically you?
Such a hard question when you actually start to think about it. There are a plethora of things I cherish that make me feel authentically me. Writing is definitely high on that list, whether it's for my eyes only or something I am sharing with everyone, writing has always made me feel authentic. As well as good music, dancing, and a beautiful day, but I never feel more authentic or more like myself than when the sky is full of magic and I am traveling. Travel has become such an essential part of my life. It has been something I have daydreamed about since I was a little girl. But reading about it and studying it is nothing compared to actually experiencing. Travel, especially solo-traveling is so important for returning to the most authentic version of yourself and something I highly recommend.
What does being authentic mean to you?
To me being authentic means speaking your truth and staying aligned with your core beliefs and life's purpose. We will all have moments where we are unable to be 'authentic' in the moment, but that is life. I believe that is our journey to stay true to ourselves, honest with ourselves, and following our life's purpose. After that, the only thing left to do is love unconditionally.
What are you proud to support?
I am proud to support Planned Parenthood, during a time where we have seen attack after attack on women's rights, I am proud to stand with PP. All people have a choice over their body, period!
What are you proud to rebel against?
I am proud to rebel against the system and to rebel against the patriarchy. Those along with capitalism have gravely damaged our society and it is time we take Mother Earth back! No one is happy living these lives and we were not born on this planet to go to school, go to work, pay off mass amounts of debt we acquire along the way and then die. That is not the meaning of life and I am proud to rebel agains that status quo.
What is your favorite quirk about yourself?
How multifaceted I am. I have a lot of different pieces of the puzzle that make up what is Leighana and many people don't even know half of it. I have a very great sense of humor that most people don't understand, it's obviously the best though.
Why is it important for women to support other women?
Because we are the only chance this planet has, us and the children. We must work together with love and support to heal this world. Feminine energy is are the only thing I know of that can heal on such a global level, we must work together and uplift each other because we are all we have.
What does the lady Jays lifestyle mean to you?
Being free, being rebellious. To me smoking Lady Jays is about more than smoking, it is about rebelling, it is about be intentional, it is about supporting women and working together.
